The Recycling Center in Kaohsiung Guang Wu Primary School

In the past, recycling centers were often seen as dirty and disorganized, which discouraged people from visiting unless necessary. However, this renovation project aims to challenge and change this negative perception of recycling and waste collection areas.

The renovated space serves as an attractive environment for teachers and students, while also promoting the concepts of recycling, reusing resources, and regenerating value. Additionally, the design incorporates educational elements with the goal of positively influencing behavior through hands-on activities.

Our goal is to create a bright and clean recycling space by incorporating lightweight and transparent wave wall sequences, along with gently sloping terrain and diverse plantings in specific areas. In addition to functioning as a central hub for waste collection and resource recycling, the design includes dedicated areas for storing cleaning tools and facilitating washing and cleaning processes. To enhance the overall aesthetics, we have implemented nighttime illumination, making the recycling and waste collection area a visually pleasing addition to the campus environment. Furthermore, we have planned the use of classification icons to simplify and make resource sorting more intuitive.

We believe that habits are the invisible architecture of daily life.
