Crafted from Taiwan cypress wood, the Floating Line stretches across the campus like a gentle undulating stroke. Starting at the height of courtyard seating, the Line gradually rises to table height, ascends through the second and third floors, and reaches the roof before returning to its starting point. This installation links the junior and senior grade areas, enriching the spatial experience and embodying the concept of connection, with the hope that students will perceive the campus as a cohesive whole.
Various activities and learning opportunities are encouraged by the Line during the daytime, while at night, the softly illuminated installation lends a tranquil atmosphere to the surroundings. It not only fosters interactions between students and teachers but also draws the attention and interest of nearby neighborhoods to events happening within the campus. Situated at Guan-Pu Elementary School in Hsinchu, a city known for its windy conditions, the Floating Line flows like the wind, freely and floatingly.
