緊鄰稻田的事務所，建築由老舊農舍改建而成，隨著時間歷經幾番擴建至現今之規模，建物的增長恰巧反映了半畝塘的成長歷程。前端入口處的生態水池是創業初期為了向業主展示景觀概念而做，隨著時間日漸野趣橫生，淬鍊出半畝塘的自然風格。中段陸續建構出圖書室、菜圃、食堂、窯灶以及茶屋等設施，投射出建築人的生活想望，茶飯飄香的幸福感蘊養著每一位在此工作／生活的半畝塘伙伴。尾端建置一座生態廁所，反映半畝塘近年對環境價值的關注，可循環的系統性設計讓環境生生不息，構成半畝塘作品不可或缺的價值。

空間由棧橋、梯、步道串聯在一起，不僅構成一個可以遊走散步的空間，也形成連續的情境空間。若再加上許多地方移植而來的大樹，濃密的樹冠與綠蔭孕育了深厚的歲月感，一旁稻田的農作則透露了季節輪替的訊息，讓整個環境的時間感與空間感交織在一起，詩化一個坐落城市中的建築事務所。

The office building nestling next to a rice field is a renovated old farmhouse that had gone through several expansions throughout the years. The expansions on the building reflected BMT’s history of growth. The wild pond at the front entrance was created in the early days of BMT to showcase landscaping concepts to the clients. As time went on, wildlife gradually took over the pond, which symbolizes the naturalism in BMT’s design style. Library, vegetable garden, dining room, wood stove, and tea house were gradually added to the mid-section of the office. These facilities are the projection of the lifestyle that BMT architects desire. The fragrance of food in the air gives a sense of homeliness for the staff working/living in this office. At the end of the office is a composting toilet that embodies BMT’s focuses on environmental values in recent years. Designing systems that create an ecological cycle fostering sustainability is the core value at the heart of all BMT projects.

Different corners and areas in the office are connected by wooden bridges, stairs, and footpaths, creating a space fit for a leisure walk and forming a continuous scenario of the site. Surrounding the office are large trees relocated from different places, their dense canopy and green shades create a quaint and rustic atmosphere. The crops on the fields around the building whisper the changing of seasons, allowing the environment, time, and space to weave together, transforming the architecture firm office in the city in a very poetic sense.
