The World is Theater - Taipei Performing Arts Center

If the Performing Arts Center is a theater and various scenes in life are performed on its stage, then Publicloooooop is the auditorium, and the entire theater is conceptually equal to the stage. The feeling grows stronger at Publicloooooop around the Globe Playhouse. In the venue, the audience watches various scenes in life performed on stage, while the flaneurs at Publicloooooop gaze at the whole theater from behind the auditorium like canaries. Therefore, Publicloooooop does not simply serve as a functional passage; it also gives meanings of concepts to this functional architecture.

It has always been OMA’s preference to intertwine or layer different functions. Koolhaas called it Culture of Congestion. Congestion, to OMA, bears meanings of diversity and abundance, and the above examples indeed allow us to get a taste of unexpected new experiences.
