朝田善之助紀念館位於京都，為典藏人權運動檔案的紀念館。朝田善之助是人權組織的發起人，也在人權運動當中扮演了重要的角色。

建築物為兩層樓的木造結構，由九平方公分的小型扁薄木片組成，來自山林間常見的疏伐木，但卻因為面積過小，通常不會用作建材。

我們大膽運用這種建材，目的在於呈現這個組織的活動是「弱者合作」的結果。所有的木片都用結構用螺絲固定，組成本建築物的所有架構。為了防火，所有的結構都覆上或是填滿了竹柵，接著抹上泥漿，最後室內牆面覆上白色灰泥，具有維持室內濕度的作用，這點對於藏書來說尤其重要。

外牆則是覆有西洋杉板材，以作防水之效，為傳統日式倉庫的建築工法。由鋼筋混凝土建造的地下室，同時也是貯熱槽，在冬天時能夠儲存屋頂上陽光加熱過的空氣，以及夏天地下冷卻的涼爽空氣，一年四季都能維持宜人的溫度。

“Lattice Pod” is the museum for the archives of Human-right movement in Kyoto, and Asada Zen-nosuke is the founder of the organization and one who played important role for the movement.

The building is a 2 story wooden structure consisting of small pieces of cypress which has only 90mm square in section. They are produced constantly from the thinned wood in the mountain, but not used for construction because it is too small.

We were bold in using this material to represent the activities of the organization as “Cooperation of the weak”. All the wood pieces fixed with structural screws and nails formed the entire structure of this architecture. For fire protection, all the structural members were covered or filled with bamboo lattice with mud troweled on it. White plaster was applied on the interior to keep away moisture in the room, a very important requirement for the storage of books.

The exterior wall is covered with cider panel for water protection in reference to traditional construction technique of Japanese storehouse. The basement in reinforced concrete acts as a thermal storage of the solar-heated air carried from the roof in winter and the cooled air produced from the groundwater in summer. It provides comfortable thermal condition all year round.
