從建築圖面看臺灣的產業遺產

View Taiwanese Industrial Heritage from Architectural Drawings

產業文化遺產,與單點保存的古蹟或歷史建築最大的價值差異,在於場域完整的生產脈絡,其建築特色和整體空間環境密切關聯,除產業廠房建築本體,還要串聯生產流程和交通運輸系統完整保存,才能闡明現代化工業文明與人類生活關聯的意義。但是土地價格昂貴,失去原始生產功能的工廠,較少有機會整體成為文化資產被完整保存,僅能從較具代表性的建築拼湊系統全貌。臺灣近年日漸重視產業遺產的保存意義與價值,許多近代化過程與工業技術、政策經濟相關作品的史料受到重視,以下挑選六個案例,分享交通、水道和專賣政策等面向,從建築個案窺看產業系統的故事。

During the Japanese colonial period, Taiwan went under a diverse modernization and development, with various industrial production projects penetrating deeply into everyday society through transportation systems and monopolistic distribution systems. The related facilities serve as important evidence of modern civilized society. Since the 1950s, industrial archaeology has been gaining attention from countries worldwide, focusing on various industrial heritage since the Industrial Revolution. The core of preservation has expanded from production and transportation of factories, mining areas, canals, and railways to include workers’ residence and welfare measures. Apart from maintaining the artificial environment, there is also a focus on promoting sustainable land use and cultural education through the research process. The Cultural Heritage Preservation Act also continuously grants industrial heritage official cultural heritage status and conservation of resources.
